American R&B artiste and Grammy award-winner Chris Brown thrilled fans in Mombasa over the weekend.

It was alleged that Breezy, upon arrival in Mombasa, smashed a female fan’s phone, something that caused an uproar amongst Kenyans. However those reports of Breezy grabbing a fan’s phone and throwing it to the ground appear to have been a big lie.

According to the Daily Nation, a female fan came out to allege that Chris Brown took her iPhone and smashed it as she attempted to take a selfie with him at the Mombasa International Airport.

But airport security officials have come out to dispute her allegations.

“Chris Brown did not smash a fan’s phone at the Moi International Airport (MIA) when he arrived Saturday 10am”, said MIA security boss, who spoke in confidence.

He added that the media was not allowed to take photos or cover Breezy’s arrival, hence questioning the authenticity and motive of the media house that published the fans claims.

The MIA security also said that no complainant came forward to claim his or her phone was smashed by the singer. However, he admits Chris Brown took photos with a few fans who received him at the airport at 10am Saturday, October 8.

Chris Brown’s promoter in Kenya, Thandie, has refuted the reports, saying she was with the singer at the time he arrived at the airport – and claims no ‘phone smashing’ took place.

“The reports are false, and they come across as malicious,” she said.

Brown headlined the concert in Mombasa alongside Nigeria’s Wizkid, Vanessa Mdee, Alikiba and rapper Navio at the Mombasa Golf Club.
