City tycoon and socialite Jack Pemba is behind bars, we have learnt.
Pemba was reportedly arrested and detained at Entebbe International airport as he tried to leave the country over the weekend.
According to online reports, he has been on the Interpol watch list for sometime now and was finally apprehended by security operatives in compliance with a court order on Sunday evening in a collaborative effort between Ugandan and Tanzanian forces.
We have further learnt that he is being investigated over his business and financial activities. This follows a tip off to the authorities that he is involved in money laundering.
Pemba, whose source of income has has raised a lot of speculation in the past, rose to fame following his extravagant display of wealth at social events. He is known for giving out wads of cash at music concerts and sports events.
