Miss Tourism Uganda is back for another edition.
The 2017 edition was launched at a media event held at Uganda Museum on Friday evening. Now in its 5th edition, the beauty pageant continues to show tremendous growth having started with only six clusters in 2013, but now boasts of 12.

The beauty pageant promises to be even bigger this year following a generous sponsorship package of Ugx 130 million and a BMW MINI cooper for the winner from Radiant Cosmetics.
Speaking at the launch, a spokesperson for Radiant Cosmetics reiterated the brand’s commitment to support the pageant as it continues to grow to greater heights.
“We’ve been with Miss Tourism Uganda for four years in a row and we expect to be with it for many more years to come,” the Radiant Cosmetics spokesperson said. “We believe as Radiant that empowering a lady is empowering the nation. For us, this pageant is an opportunity to change this nation; an opportunity to give young girls a chance to change their lives.”

The pageant, which aims to promote Uganda’s tourism by showcasing Ugandan beauties as the pearls of Africa, will hold this year’s edition under the theme “Let the pearl shine”.
Following the launch, the organizers will now embark on a search for the next Miss Tourism Uganda queen, an effort that will see them traversing 12 regions of Uganda. The search will culminate with a grand finale slated for September 22 at Kampala Serena hotel as the regional finalists battle for the coveted crown.
