Musician turned politician Bobi Wine, real name Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, has today officially joined the 10th parliament.
The singer, who was flanked by his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi led a procession from his home in Magere and marched all the way to parliament as his ecstatic supporters cheered him on.
He was later sworn in this afternoon as the newly elected Kyadondo East Member of Parliament. The “Bikwase Kyagulanyi” singer took his oath at parliament amid excitement from his supporters.
Bobi, who was standing on an independent ticket, was announced winner in the Kyadondo East by-election after garnering 25, 659 votes to see off competition from other contenders including NRM’s Sitenda Ssebalu William who came second with 4, 566 votes and FDC’s Apollo Katinti in third place with 1, 832 votes.
Meanwhile, Bob Wine has promised to have a general celebration with his scores of supporters at Kasangati Saza grounds later today to mark this milestone.
