The 11th edition of the annual Club DJ Awards culminated on Sunday with the grand finale held at Lido beach in Entebbe. The final showdown saw 20 deejays battling for the ultimate crown of best deejay.
Performing in a front of the crowd at the beach, each deejay was given 3 minutes to rouse the audience and the crowd’s favorites would then move on to the next round. Ten Djs were selected to battle in the second round.
Round two got the best 10 battling it out with each other to select the ultimate victor. After a display of their artistry and mastery of the turntables, DJ Lola, a crowd favorite came in second position with DJ Tony being crowned winner.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Anthony Yawe, Club Dj Awards property owner, said; “Initially DJs were regarded as just another set of juveniles who were just looking for easy money and mostly delinquents. As the Club DJ Awards continue to grow strong, we are out to prove this mentality wrong.”
The Club DJ Awards are open to 20 DJ’s that register first in every region across the country. They are sponsored by Club Beer.
