For long, Ugandan musicians have complained that their music does not get played enough in night clubs. Well, that was not the case at Valhalla bar on Saturday. Revelers who turned up at the Lumumba avenue based hangout were treated to a night of exclusively Ugandan music.
From Kadongo kamu, to traditional songs, to contemporary Ugandan music, revelers had a memorable time as they enjoyed a rich cocktail of Ugandan music all night. Keeping them on their feet all night was a host of local deejays including Dj Tobby and Dj Matt among others.
This was the 4th edition of the Night of Stripes, an event that celebrates Ugandan music and culture. According to the organisers, the event is not only aimed at promoting Ugandan music and dance but is also intended to create a behavioral change that will make it cool to enjoy Ugandan music in all its variations and flavors.
Here are some photos from the event.
