Uganda will have to wait another year for a nod in the BET Awards as Bebe Cool and Eddy Kenzo, arguably Uganda’s top selling artistes in the past year, missed out on the nominations that have been announced today. The story is no different for Kenya as Nigerian and South African singers dominated the Best International Act Africa category. The East African region was salvaged by Tanzanian sensational singer Diamond Platnumz who will battle with seven others for the coveted award including Wizkid (Nigeria) and AKA (South Africa).
According to the award organisers, the nominees represent depth and diversity in achievement over the past year. The nominations are selected by BET’s Voting Academy, which is comprised of fans and an esteemed group of entertainment professionals in the fields of television, film, music, social media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, and the creative arts.
