Bobi Wine during the chaos in Parliament

Musician turned MP, Bobi Wine remains resolute in his struggle to defend the constitution.

The singer who was involved in a brawl during a plenary session on Wednesday has revealed that his whole body aches but the heart remains solid as a rock.

He made the remarks while responding to criticism for his part in the parliamentary saga. “My muscles ache, my joints feel dislocated, the pain in my neck from the strangling is unbearable, my head hurts so bad ,my whole body is in terrible pain but my heart is as SOLID AS A ROCK.” He stated.

“We shall not be spectators while our country is being killed, plundered and destroyed. We owe it to the present people of Uganda and the generations to come.” He added.

Bobi Wine alongside other opposition MPs staged a spirited fight against the tabling of the controversial Age Limit bill which escalated into chaos in Parliament on Wednesday afternoon.

However, they were soon overpowered and thrown out of Parliament by security personnel who were sanctioned by the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Rebecca Kadaga to take control of the situation and restore calm in the August House.

Bobi Wine has since been suspended along with 24 other legislators for apparently orchestrating the chaos in Parliament. They will miss three parliamentary sittings.

However, their luck ran out today as they were finally arrested after a trap was laid for them. Sources have revealed that their latest would-be victim involved police after she became suspicious of the deal. Bobi Wine’s life in danger as grenades are thrown at his home

Bobi Wine

Musician turned politician, Bobi Wine’s life is in danger.

According to Bobi Wine, he has been receiving threatening messages from unknown people who say they will disable or terminate him if he does not stop opposing the Age Limit bill.

The threats are getting real as his home has been attacked twice with grenades.

He posted:

GRENADES have for the second time in two days been thrown at my house and exploded. Property damaged and no one hurt! But what kind of country are we now living in?

I had decided to ignore the blasts and these threats, but it seems they are now getting real.

Let me announce to the whole world that these past days I have been receiving death threats on an almost daily basis. I have also been advised by some friends who know more than I know that I should be very careful what I eat or drink, how I drive and from where, whom I meet, even who touches me while I go to Parliament. Apparently something could be done to me during the kind of scuffle that happened when state agents invaded the Parliamentary chamber!

Reason? Opposing the removal of age limits in the Constitution! Anonymous calls targeting not only me but my family as well. I have been told that ‘if I don’t leave that thing a lone, I will just be terminated or disabled.’
These are cowardly acts which must be condemned by all people of good conscience. We are not involved in war. We are just citizens who are interested in a good country for ourselves and the generations to come. WE SHALL NOT BE INTIMIDATED. Let them know that NOTHING can stop an idea whose time has come. If you kill one me, perhaps a thousand more will rise up. The world is watching!”

The “Time Bomb” singer, who in the past has released several socially conscious songs, revealed that he is aware of the risks involved is his struggle and is ready to die for what he believes is right.

He made the remarks while speaking at an arts and activism symposium held at the Uganda Museum on Tuesday.

“It is much important to die for an idea that will live other than living for an idea that will die,” he stated. “I know that the position I decided to take is not safe, not for me or my family, but I believe its right.”

“I am trying to use the little time when I am free and alive to multiply myself as many times as possible; sowing a seed of freedom in as many people as possible so that even when I am killed that will only create a thousand Bobi Wines.” He added.

Bobi Wine also used the opportunity to explain why he is against the controversial age limit bill.

“I am not at war with President Museveni. I am only at war with the oppression and wrongness that is happening.” He explained. “It can only get better if we stand up against the wrongs.”

It is over!

Zari Hassan and Diamond Platznumz are no more, that is if the socialite’s recent actions are anything to go by. We have learnt that Zari has erased Diamond out of her life as she deleted all her recent photos with Diamond off her Instagram account. This comes days after she refused to be part of Diamond’s birthday celebrations early this week.

Meanwhile, the couple has lately been going through a tough time after Diamond’s philandering ways were exposed. After being dogged by rumours that he had sired a kid with his video vixen Hamisa Mobetto, the singer recently came out to confirm that the baby was indeed his in a radio interview. This was followed by several other women coming out with implicating photos showing the singer in compromising positions.

It is believed it is this that has caused friction between the couple.

It remains to be seen if this is merely a rough patch in their relationship, or they are done for good.

We will keep you posted.
