Maurice Kirya entertains revelers at his concert

By Our Reporter

After traversing the world, doing shows in Netherlands, Germany and Paris, and even becoming a dad in the process, Maurice Kirya is back with Kirya Live 2018. The renowned RnB balladeer is back with his famed yearly “Kirya Live” concert that will take place on 2nd November, 2018 at Kampala Serena Hotel.

Kirya Live offers a unique musical experience that’s incomparable. Maybe this is why this Takashi Murakami of soul music spaces his concerts; he’s a firm believer that good work needs time. And against that revelation, Kirya Live is bound to leave a mark.

The syrupy vocalist will take his fans on a detour back on his musical journey. From the lamentations of an insomniac Woowe to Misubbawa that literally kept his musical candle burning. From the angelic Malaika to Boda Boda who took fans on an enchanting ride. Of course, without forgetting his new music off his Free Dreams album and the new popular hymn Nze Ani.

The past Kirya Live editions have been nothing, but a musical buffet. His fans always get their money’s worth, because Maurice outdoes himself. And this edition won’t be any different. In fact, it will be an uplift from the past editions.

“This won’t be just a show, this will be an experience. A unique experience. It’s history in the making,” Maurice promised.

Maurice has always given young and upcoming talents a platform to showcase their talents. A trait he’s carried from The Maurice Kirya Experience days. The past Kirya Live edition saw artistes like Kenneth Mugabi share a stage with him. And the Kirya Live 2018 edition will see another new entrant. This time, it will be JC Muyonjo, The Body of Brian and Shifah Musisi.

Early bird tickets go for only UGX70,000 and UGX100,000 at the entrance. The table for 10 people goes for only UGX3M. This time, there will be a VIP section, but the rest will still have a chance to groove to their favourite Kirya songs and come closer to the stage to get up close and personal with him.

Pallaso shoots Hannah video

It looks like singer Pallaso will soon be smiling his way up the music charts, all thanks to a huge investment he just made on his latest musical project. The “Amaaso” hit maker just injected millions of shillings in a music video for his single, Hannah, shot by celebrated videographer, Sasha Vybz.

The video, shot at a secret location in Mukono is to be released soon, and if behind the scenes shots are anything to go by, this video is going to be a fan favourite and chat topper for sure.

“When you listen to the song, it’s a long song, so I felt that should have been depicted in the video as well. My fans should definitely be excited about this one. I have found love, and I am deciding to exhibit this new joy in my new music as well,” the artiste explained.

The artiste further explained that the out of the city location was the videographer’s idea, and he couldn’t have been more pleased with it.

“When Sasha told me we would be shooting in Mukono, I was a little skeptical, but all my worries disappeared when I got here. This place is a clear sample of why we are called the ‘Pearl of Africa’. This is paradise itself,” Pallaso added.

Desire Luzinda

By Our Reporter

Musician Desire Luzinda is beginning a new chapter in her life. This was marked by the release of her new album titled “Transition” on Monday.

During the album release party held at Sky Lounge, the “Ekitone” star announced that this will be her last album as a secular artist, and she will henceforth be doing only Gospel music.

She explained that this was not an overnight decision, but it had been well thought over for two years now, a time during which she was involved in God’s ministry.

“After my 2014 nudity scandal, I drew closer to God. I started praying harder and seeking God deeper.” She explained. “I engaged in church activities and from there on I knew that it is where I belonged. The calling for worship began to manifest in my life and I began to hate secular music, and wanted to quit.”

“I have spent 2 years praying and seeking God on how to transition and releasing this album, which is my last, is one of the steps to my new journey.” She added.

Meanwhile, Desire also used the opportunity to announce her new campaign dubbed “Girls and Goals” through which she hopes to empower women by sharing nuggets of her life story.

“We live in a society where psychological and social factors among others affect the choices of a girl child in shaping their lifestyles. I want to share my story with the young generation especially girls so that it may help them in making the right decisions while chasing their dreams.” She stated.
