Tochi & Eric evicted from the BB Naija house

By Our Reporter

The second Big Brother Naija live eviction show saw Eric and Tochi evicted from the house on Sunday.

During the week, Ozo won the Head of House Challenge, and after much deliberation, he chose Dorathy as his Deputy. This automatically saved both of them from being up for eviction.

As with last week, the audience voted and the four housemates with the lowest votes were locked in for possible eviction. Tochi, Trikytee, Kaisha and Eric turned out to be the four housemates with the lowest votes. Each housemate was called into the diary room to pick who they’ll like to see leave the house.

It was a double eviction night again, as Eric and Tochi were ultimately chosen by the housemates to be evicted from the BBNaija Lockdown house. The housemates were sad to see them go, but at the end of the day, “it is what it is”.

They both had 10 seconds to say their goodbyes and hurriedly left the Lockdown house forever.

In a brief interview with Ebuka, Eric said that he missed Lilo because she was the housemate he was closest to. Eric also says now that he is out of the house, he hopes to carry on a relationship with Lilo if she is interested in doing so. He also says he is going to focus on his work, go into modelling and acting.

Tochi also kept a positive outlook as he says he will be focusing on work and promoting himself, and maybe pursue acting as well. He says he was a bit disappointed that the housemates didn’t keep him, but he understands that it is a game.

There are now only 16 housemates still in the BBNaija Lockdown House competing for the 85 Million Naira prize and you can be sure there will be even more drama in the coming weeks.

Over the weekend, social media was awash with mixed reactions following leaked audios in which musician Eddy Kenzo castigated fellow singer turned politician, Bobi Wine.

While Bobi Wine’s fans were enraged and responded with insults, other social media users seemed to side with Kenzo. Among these was one long comment which made rounds all over social media and was said to have been made by faded dancehall artist Peter Miles.

In the comment, the artiste stressed that Bobi Wine diverted from the real cause because of greed and ego.

However, Peter Miles has come out to clear the air saying that those are malicious people trying to destroy his friendship with Bobi Wine.

“Bobi Wine has been my friend for over 20 years and we still talk as brothers the earliest being last week when he gave me a call and we had a casual call as longtime friends. I don’t know the intention of this as those who know me very well know this character assassination. Please consider this as fake news,” he said.

Nsimbi - GNL Zamba and Miriam Tamar

By Our Reporter

Nsimbi, a cross-cultural musical duo formed by Ugandan hip-hop artist GNL Zamba and American world fusion artist Miriam Tamar, has released a new single titled “Searching”.

The new release speaks to this tumultuous moment, when so many of us are searching for grounding, stability, meaning, connection and love.

“In these complicated and tough Covid times,” explains writer and vocalist Miriam Tamar, “so many of us can feel isolated – both physically and emotionally. For me, Searching talks about that basic human need for love and connection. Being loved, or giving love, provides each of us the strength to endure and even thrive during the most difficult situations.”

“Searching” is driven by a calling to bring the world a little closer together at a time when we’ve become so divided, both politically and now physically through social distancing during the pandemic. This world beat song carries the spirit of searching for connection, offering a chill and hopeful feeling for anyone needing some music therapy.

The video was filmed at Nsimbi’s US quarantine hideaway by GNL Zamba in his directorial debut, which came as a matter of necessity when the couple was unable to meet any video producers due to Covid-19 lockdown.

“‘We’re all just searching for love’, the lyric goes in this song. All human beings spend most of their lives looking for love and a place where they belong,” said GNL of the song. “The pressure of these times with the Black Lives Matter protests, refugee crisis in Lesbos and chaos in South America tell us that the world needs healing and to replenish our hearts with love. Searching for humanity, empathy and love for all, the solutions lie in going out of our way to feel someone else’s pain.”

“When I was directing this video, I wanted to show a story of connection. I wanted to show beauty and portray loneliness, because even in the most comfortable setting, we can feel lost until we have someone to share our beautiful journey with. Looking inward and outwards, sharing the mundane and extra ordinary!!!” He added.
