Vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, teacher and artist, Davis Ntare’s skills seem to have no limit in the field of the arts. The multi-fusion Zouk musician, who combines his art of Jazz, Afro fusion and an element of Reggae, is set to have his debut performance at the 13th Edition of Blankets and Wine on 10th July 2016.

Davis Ntare’s rise to fame is a story of hard work and persistence. He first came to the scene when he auditioned for the Tusker Project Fame Season 3 but failed to make it. He later returned for the fourth season and through his multi-talent and diligence, he won the support of the fans and was voted as that season’s winner.

Famously known for songs such as; Sheka Sheka, Rise, Wanna Make love and Sisinkana– Ntare is an ace to watch and listen to. Davis will be performing for his first time at the 13th Edition of Blankets and Wine, Kampala.

Even though he will be among the many acts who have performed at the events before, Davis promises to give a performance to remember. “Performing at Blankets and Wine is one of the most formidable stages on the Ugandan scene and for me to be a part of it is a dream come true. For it going to be a great achievement for me. The revelers are the people that love and understand my music. I will be performing for an experience of a lifetime.” Said Davis Ntare.

Commenting about the opportunity of having some of Uganda’s best afro-fusionists and fast rising stars performing at the Blankets and Wine, Tusker Malt Lager Brand Manager, Alex Tusingwire said, “Having Davis Ntare at Blankets and Wine is long overdue. We all know about his potential and his ability to get crowds up on their feet is unquestionable. We shall be expecting nothing less. He is a great singer and even better performer. Davis will join Uganda’s multi-talent female sensation, Mo Roots, African contemporary and urban music performer, Jackie Akello, top saxophonist Kirya Kuti alongside South Africa’s multi-award winning house band Mi Casa.

A quarterly, picnic style music festival, Blankets and Wine is East Africa’s premier music experience, designed to showcase outstanding musicians in the emerging genres of afro-based music.

Entrance fee is 100,000 UGX at the Uganda Museum and gates open at 12:00pm on Sunday July 10, 2016.

In line with its support for responsible drinking, Tusker Malt Lager will be maintaining a strict ‘over 18 only’ policy for sale of alcohol.

Singer Nince Henry has finally explained why his dreadlocks were not bought during the Save Carol car wash campaign.

In an interview on NTV the Beat music show with Douglas last week, Nince said that he decided to cut off his dreads and sell them off in order to save Carol’s life on the advice of one of his friends.

“I was very ready to put my dreads on auction and sell it but unfortunately the organizers were unable to find time for auctioning items like it had earlier been planned and that’s how my hair somehow survived from being auctioned at Save Carol car wash campaign,” said Nince Henry.

He also indicated that he still has his dreads and maybe he will auction them in future to save someone else’s life.

Rapper O.P.U, born in Koboko district, West Nile, is making a mark on the Uganda music scene not only with his high quality music but with his new project named “Project R.I.C”.

Project R.I.C in full is “Reading Is Cool” a literacy project aimed at creating awareness of the need to read in Uganda. He started the project in his former primary school East Kololo Primary School where he visits the school once a week to conduct a reading club with pupils.

This project is aimed at improving the reading situation and the rapper hopes to spread his project cross the country. The success of this project will if well executed, place him among the very few artists in Uganda who use their influence for society development.

The rapper appeared on Urban TV’s prime time news segment to discuss the project into details. We salute and thank him for this positive cause and for putting Koboko Town on the map.

Ex-convict and socialite Shanita Namuyimbwa aka Bad Black has come out claim her property that was confiscated by Uganda Police in 2012 after her arrest.

The Mud Guard singer claims that the Kireka police took her cars and they sold them when she was arrested back in 2012, however she says that she served the sentence of 4 years in jail and that she doesn’t see any reason why they shouldn’t give her back her cars since selling them wasn’t part of the court sentence.

In a statement issued on Facebook, Black told the Inspector General of police Gen. Kale Kayihura to return her cars within two days or else she will hold a demonstration in the city center. She posted:

“General Kayihura sir with much respect from Bad Black I kindly request you to tell your police station of Kireka to give me back my cars which they soled because I hv served my sentence which was passed by the judge of anti corruption court in 2012 and in my judgment there where no any order to give out my properties to any body but it was 4yrs imprisonment.

I am giving you two days before kwekalakasa in town. Next, I need court of appeal to refund my 100million back as soon as possible coz I was granted bail under medical condition and it was cancelled in one week. Did government use 100million to bring me back by car ? plz its time I need justice am a Ugandan am not afraid.”

Kiss Daniel remembers traumatic childhood memories in sharp contrast with the success he has attained since he made his debut into the Nigerian music scene.

The singer took to his Instagram page on Saturday to share a photo of himself as a baby, as he recalled a saddening memory from his childhood.

Making reference to a time when himself and his family lived in a rat infested house, Daniel was sure to thank God for his journey so far.

Sharing the photo, Daniel said:

“This lil guy made history with ‘NEW ERA’ album… JUMBO, ALONE, KUDI, DURO, ANOTHER DAY, SIN CITY, KISS ME…. I remember back in the day when we used to stay in a rat infested house in KUTO, ABK and then 2 mother rats gave birth at once LORD…

“In days, The whole house was filled with rats, we had to stand on our dining table one night till dawn but my dad was the man, he killed some but then joined us soon enough on the dining table to rest his muscles… What a strong dining table. Let today be the day you look back and Say thank you GOD! Just noticed… Ignore my female shoe, I used my sisters shoe, Na shoe abeg.”

Nicolas Cage and his wife, Alice Kim, have been separated since January, a rep for the National Treasure star, 52, confirms to Us Weekly.

The couple — who have been married for nearly 12 years — share a 10-year-old son, Kal-el.

As previously reported, sparks first flew between the Hollywood vet and Kim, 32, when Cage met his now-estranged spouse working as a waitress at a Los Angeles restaurant. After a whirlwind two months of dating, the pair got engaged. They tied the knot in a romantic Northern California wedding ceremony on July 30, 2004.

While Cage has rarely opened up about his personal life, he spoke about settling down with his Korean-born wife in a rare 2013 interview with The Guardian.

“I made a very clear decision to marry out of my own zip code,” he told the U.K. outlet. “I mean, way out of my own zip code. I married into another culture, and it’s interesting because in Korea they call me the Son-in-Law.”

This will be the third divorce for the Oscar-winning actor. Prior to Kim, Cage was married to Lisa Marie Presley, with whom he split in 2004 after two years of marriage. Before shacking up with Elvis’ daughter, now 48, the Oscar winner was wed to Patricia Arquette from 1995 until 2001. Tanzanian singer Ray-C has been sent back to a rehabilitation centre in Dar es salaam, days after being rescued from a suicide attempt.

The singer was picked by police on Dar es Salaam streets after she started yelling, saying she will strip naked and was asking for a knife to stab herself.

The Bongo Flava artiste was in 2012 admitted to rehab after the then Tanzanian president Jakaya Kikwete and well-wishers came to her rescue.

In April, Kikwete urged Ray-C to stop abusing drugs while on methadone treatment as it would result in her breaking down.

The former president learnt of Ray-C’s alleged relapse when photos of a dejected woman reported to be Ray-C were published in one of the country’s popular weeklies.

Chris Brown, 27, is in trouble once again. His manager of four years, Mike G, has reportedly filed a lawsuit claiming that his client brutally attacked him for absolutely no reason in May 2016.

This is absolutely terrifying. Chris Brown allegedly assaulted his manager, Mike G, by repeatedly punching him in the face and neck until he needed to be rushed to the emergency room, claims TMZ. The report claims that Chris brought Mike into another room and then started attacking him without being provoked. So scary.

Even worse? Mike has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Chris, and the paperwork claims that the singer was not remorseful in any way, shape, or form for the brutal attack. The paperwork allegedly claims that instead, Chris mocked the situation and Mike as if it were actually funny. It’s also being reported that Chris “bragged” about the beatdown to people on his team and tour, allegedly telling them that if they got out of line he would do the exact same thing to them.

When HollywoodLife.com reached out a rep for Mike G, his lawyer, Patty Glaser, responded with the following statement: “We did everything we could to resolve this in a non-public way to avoid damage to Chris Brown. Regrettably, as outlined in our complaint, Chris Brown has proven to be his own worst enemy.”

Many of Radio and Weasel’s fans might be still waiting for their collabo with Kenyan band Sauti Sol that was  earlier announced by the Goodlyfe singers but information reaching our news desk indicates that this collabo may never come out.

According to our close sources, Sauti Sol had initially picked interest to work with Radio and Weasel on a music project but they later changed their mind after realizing that the Omwaana wa bandi singers’ music performance was not all that good compared to them.

It is said that it was then that Sauti Sol opted to have a collabo with Tanzania’s Alikiba thus denying them a chance.

It should also be noted that Radio and Weasel have on several occasions informed their fans how they are working on new music projects with other African stars on the continent but their projects never come out as they always speculate.

Nince Henry recently bragged about being the best songwriter in the country. While appearing on NTV the Beat music show last week, Nince said that he is undoubtedly the best songwriter at the moment.

When asked why he considers himself the best songwriter, Nince responded by indicating that he has written several hit songs. He further added that he is the brain behind the top hit song in the country at the moment, but when tasked to mention the song, he remained silent.

It should be noted that he faces stiff competition from other top songwriters like Ray Signature, Dokta Brain, Saxess among others.

Goodlyfe singers Radio and Weasel seem to have swallowed their pride and finally agreed to settle their issues with Jeff Kiwa out of court.

According to our sources, Radio and Weasel are going to enter into peace talks with Jeff Kiwa with the help of their lawyers and find a way forward on how they can resolve their matters amicably.

This comes after Team No Sleep manager Jeff Kiwa through his lawyers Muwema and Company Advocates sent a notice to sue Radio and Weasel in courts of law if they failed to apology to him and delete the offensive video they shared online in which they accused him of using witchcraft and involving himself in cult rituals.

It should be noted that Jeff intended to sue them for 500 million shillings in damages if they refused to do as he required but proud Radio and Weasel vowed not to apologize to him.

Singer Desire Luzinda has finally spoken out on why she released her Ekitone song during her nudes saga, a thing that was interpreted by many as boasting about her endowment.

While appearing on Full Doz show on Bukedde TV, Desire Luzinda said that Mowzey Radio who doubles as the songwriter advised her to release the song because it was going to “make her money”.

Musicians Lyto Boss and Iryn Namubiru are still fighting over “Anjagala” song.

We have learnt that Iryn Namubiru and Lyto Boss are entangled in a legal battle over the rightful owner of the song. This is after the two were reportedly spotted attending a court session at the commercial court on Monday. According to our sources, Lyto Boss filed a civil suit against Iryn Namubiru in which he demands Ugx 50 Million.

Meanwhile, the two singers have been fighting over the “real” owner of the song since mid last year. Iryn claims to have bought the song from fellow singer Catherine Kusasira while Lyto Boss, who is the songwriter, insists he did not get a dime for the said song. At the height of the conflict last year, Iryn accused Kusasira and Lyto Boss of trying to fleece her and dragged them to court but her case was dismissed due to lack of  convincing evidence. It is after this troubling experience that Lyto Boss decided to pursue the copyright matter to the very end.

Iryn Namubiru and Lyto Boss will return to court on September 29, 2016 if they fail to resolve their issues amicably by then.
